DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO GUATEMALA?

Yes, all guests traveling will need a valid passport. Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond the travel date.

WHAT AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY INTO?

Please fly into La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City. See Travel page for more information.

Is it safe to travel to Guatelama/Panajachel/Hotel Atitlán for the wedding?

Yes - The city of Panajachel (borders Lake Atitlán) and Hotel Atitlán are well-traveled, tourist-friendly areas, and the hotel provides secure grounds; as with any international trip, basic precautions like using trusted transportation and staying aware of your surroundings are recommended. To make your stay easier, the Bride and Groom will be providing all transportation free of charge through our wedding venue.

ARE KIDS INVITED?

While our wedding events will be adults-only, families are absolutely welcome to travel with their children. Hotel Atitlán offers offers on-site babysitting, and you’re welcome to arrange childcare directly with the hotel so you can relax and enjoy the celebrations. We hope this can be a fun getaway for you!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THERE?

Once you land at the airport, we will then take a 3 hour shuttle to our destination. We can assure beauty awaits when you arrive!

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVED FROM THE AIRPORT?

Yes, transportation from the airport to the hotels & back will be provided free of charge by the Bride & Groom.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

Guatemala has a warm tropical climate. Expect daytime temps in the mid- 70s to low 80s, and cooler evenings. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be outside, so we suggest bringing a light layer for the evening.

WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN GUATEMALA?

The local currency is the Guatemalan Quetzal (GTQ). It is best to carry local currency for small purchases. We recommend doing an exchange in the airport after you land.

CAN I COME SOONER & STAY LATER?

Of course! We have lots of fun activities planned for the trip in the “activities” page of this website that we will be doing together at the wedding venue :)
